Innovative self-treatment tool for the specific treatment of myofascial trigger points.
Triggerball® allows the self-treatment of painful muscle tension
For 80 to 90 percent of acute and chronic musculoskeletal pain, the cause is myofascial pain syndrome (MFS) and trigger points. The therapy device Triggerball®, which was introduced to the market at the beginning of 2017, has been specially developed for the self-treatment of myofascial trigger points.
The Triggerball® complements the therapist’s work
The special construction of an inner shell made of hardened silicone and softer outer shell in the form of elastic silicone segments mimics the manual treatment of the painful muscle tension by a therapist. The inventor of the Triggerball®®, Wolfgang F. Mosebach, himself an experienced therapist for manual therapy and osteopathy, explains the treatment principle: “In the trigger point therapy of a trained therapist, he expresses the painful, often radiating points. First, the “soft” tip of the therapist’s thumb expands the fascial tissue, and – as the pressure increases – the “harder” bone of the thumb causes the muscular trigger point to be pushed. ”
Exactly this property is imitated with the original Triggerball®. Therefore, the outer surfaces of a softer silicone and the inner core are much harder. And especially its unique 42 edges help the user to locate the trigger point exactly. At the same time there are different penetration depths and slipping on the ground is greatly reduced.
Necessary supplement to fascial therapy
The self-treatment of musculoskeletal disorders has greatly increased with the recognition of the new significance of the fascia. But with fascia training or fascia therapy alone (with a fascial role), the trigger points that cause the pain are not resolved. This self-treatment gap can be closed by the Triggerball ® tool in a new and special way.
Self-treatment in everyday life, work, sports and therapy support
The Triggerball ® is ideal for athletes to treat typical muscle tension and exercises after sports injuries, but also for anyone who wants to get rid of acute or chronic tension. Some of the best-known applications in the field of symptoms include lumbago, neck and shoulder tension, tension headaches, calf cramps, tension-related menstrual pain, and many more.
Release trigger points with pressure
Trigger points are palpable as “nodules” in the hardened muscle tissue and respond to pressure with a characteristic, usually dull or radiating pain.
In and around a trigger point (a muscular microcontraction) accumulate pro-inflammatory molecules. These are known to be associated with chronic pain conditions. The most common form of manual trigger point therapy is local decompression, which is to press the point with your thumb or other device for about two minutes.
The preparation of the tissue by mobilizing fascia techniques and physical exercises as well as the subsequent stretching and warming of the treated tension zone are also helpful and usual.

The Triggerball GmbH was founded in 2010 by the inventor of the TRIGGERBALL® and CEO Wolfgang F. Mosebach with the aim of giving athletes and patients a tool with which they can independently and effectively work on their muscular ailments. Wolfgang F. Mosebach himself is an osteopath, sports / gymnastics teacher and medical masseur and has been successfully treating patients with myofascial musculoskeletal disorders for more than 20 years. The TRIGGERBALL® was developed and perfected to maturity in collaboration with the team of therapists at the medical health center amanu and the product development team of the design agency Lumod in the heart of Bavaria.
